Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know before adding a piece of history to your collection.
Are these genuine ancient coins?
No. Every item we sell is a contemporary reproduction — a faithful, museum-quality replica of an ancient original. Our pieces are made for collectors, educators and enthusiasts who want the beauty and detail of ancient coinage without the cost or fragility of a genuine antiquity. They are not sold as, and should never be represented as, authentic antiquities.
What are your replicas made from?
We work in fine brass, bronze, copper, sterling silver and gold, chosen to suit each piece. Silver and gold coins are typically struck or cast to reflect the original metal, while bronze issues are finished with a warm patina in the style of an aged ancient coin. The material for each item is listed on its product page.
How faithful are the reproductions?
We begin with the best casts and moulds, prepared by highly skilled craftsmen regarded as some of the finest makers of historic-coin and artifact replicas in Europe. The result is uniquely beautiful and accurately detailed in comparison to the ancient original.
Do you offer coin restoration?
Yes. If you have a damaged coin, our craftsmen can work on it. Restoration is bespoke, so every piece is quoted individually depending on its condition and the work required. Get in touch with a description and, ideally, photographs, and we will prepare a quote for you.
Can I commission a custom piece or place a volume order?
Absolutely. We supply dealers, museums and schools, and we regularly take on custom projects. We can also discuss volume discounts. Please contact us with the details of your project and we will be glad to help.
How much is delivery and how long does it take?
Delivery costs and timescales are confirmed at checkout or on enquiry, depending on the destination and the size of the order. We ship both within the United Kingdom and internationally. If you have a deadline, let us know and we will do our best to meet it.
What is your returns policy?
Items may be returned within 30 days of purchase, provided they are in their original condition. Bespoke commissions and restoration work are made to your specification and are handled separately. Full details are set out in our Terms & Conditions.
How should I care for my replica?
Handle coins by the edges and keep them dry. Silver and gilt pieces can be kept in a soft cloth or coin capsule; bronze pieces carry a deliberate patina and are best left untouched by polish, which would remove their aged finish.
How can I pay?
We accept the major cards and secure online payment. If you are placing a custom or wholesale order, we can arrange payment terms to suit — just ask.
